Prolotherapy

A natural, non-surgical approach to chronic pain and injuries.

For Ligaments, Tendon Injuries and Chronic Pain

Weakened or damaged ligaments and tendons are a source of chronic pain. Damage can be through injury (ex. sprains and strains), overuse, or chronic degeneration (such as arthritis). One of the most common areas prolotherapy is used in the spine, where it is used to treat chronic back pain and/or sciatica by stabilizing ligaments that hold the bones together--this prevents abnormal movement and pain.

How Prolotherapy Works:

Treatment involves injection of weakened ligaments or tendons with a dextrose (glucose) solution. Dextrose creates a temporary inflammatory reaction, which mimics the normal repair and healing reaction of the body.

Prolotherapy causes an inflammatory reaction at the injured ligaments, tendons, menisci, joint capsules, and cartilage and stimulates these structures to heal.

What can prolotherapy help?

Prolotherapy is useful for treating a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:

Ankle Sprains
Neck and back pain
Knee pain and sprains
Plantar Fasciitis
Foot Pain
Sciatica
Shoulder pain
Sports Injuries
Tennis Elbow
TMJ
Chronic tendonitis
Wrist Pain
